MORE INFORMATION AND RESOURCES COMING SOON!
Learning is not a direct path; it is fluid. Make the decisions that seem right to you and then learn from the experience. If you find yourself on the wrong path, or your likes and dislikes change it is important to adapt and grow. Keep the communication lines open between your family, tutors and the Admissions Department (so, they can enrol you on to the right choices and sort your timetable.)
Whether you decide to go into Employment, Apprenticeship, or Higher Education (University), even if you change your mind about the courses you are taking you will have gained skills that can be adapted to the future ahead of you and St. Davids College will help you find your way.
MAKING DECISIONS
Your GCSEs play a big part in not only the A Levels your are allowed to take but in your Employment, Apprenticeship and University choices.
Requirements are not just about A levels or Level 3 BTECs; you are required to have minimum GCSE standards depending on the subject/work you are going into; they vary from place to place even from University to University.
Do your research ... If you haven't yet attained Grade C in ENGLISH, MATHS and SCIENCE your choices can be limited. Resitting your key GCSEs is possible, and can help you toward your goals.
Choosing A Levels, WJEC qualifications and BTECs at Level 3 (College level) is the first step you take to specialise in a field or career. It is important you stop and think about where subjects will lead you (including whether they will help you achieve your long-term goals). When you consider your options it is important to listen to others' knowledge and insight, but ultimately it is about...
YOU and YOUR VOCATION.
